Raipur, June 13, 2026: The bottleneck has been cleared to connect Jashpur with the rail network for the first time after the Ministry of Railways (Government of India) has notified the Dharamjaigarh-Pathalgaon-Lohardaga new rail line project as a Special Railway Project.
A historic milestone has been achieved in the development history of Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur district. This is not merely a railway project; it is a new cornerstone for the social, economic, and industrial development of the entire region.
Spanning approximately 291.881 kilometers, this ambitious rail line will originate at Dharamjaigarh in Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh, pass through Pathalgaon in Jashpur district, and extend to Lohardaga in Jharkhand.
The implementation of this project will directly link Jashpur district to the national rail network, giving unprecedented momentum to the region’s development.
This historic achievement is the result of the modern infrastructure being developed nationwide under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the special efforts of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. According to the notification published in the Gazette of India by the Ministry of Railways, this project has been notified under the provisions of the Railways Act, 1989, keeping public interest and national infrastructure development in mind.
The project has formally come into effect with the publication of the notification.
