Kawardha, May 05, 2026: During the ‘Sushasan Tihar’ (Good Governance Festival), Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has stated that the government’s Electricity Bill Payment Resolution Scheme has been implemented with the objective of providing relief to economically weaker families, offering substantial concessions on old, outstanding bills.
As part of ‘Sushasan Tihar 2026,’ Chief Minister Sai participated in a ‘Chaupal’ (village assembly) held under a mango tree in Kamrakhol—a remote, forest-dwelling village in the Kawardha district yesterday. Engaging directly with the villagers, he listened to their grievances with empathy and issued on-the-spot directives to ensure their immediate resolution. This scene served as a vivid testament to the strong bond of trust between the administration and the public.

During the Chaupal, when a villager expressed concern regarding rising electricity bills and outstanding dues, the Chief Minister interjected to reassure him, saying, “There is no need to worry; your government stands with you.”
He reiterated that the government’s Electricity Bill Payment Resolution Scheme was introduced specifically to provide relief to economically weaker families, offering significant waivers on accumulated arrears. In addition to domestic consumers, owners of agricultural pumps are also benefiting from the scheme, while special concessions have been provisioned for BPL (Below Poverty Line) families.

The Chief Minister’s approach was not limited merely to offering assurances. He immediately directed the District Collector Kawardha to organize special camps at the Gram Panchayat level, ensuring that residents of Kamrakhol—and surrounding villages—would not have to make repeated trips to government offices, but could instead have their issues resolved right within their own villages.
On this occasion, Kawardha District Collector Gopal Verma informed the gathering that, to date, over 13,000 consumers in the district have benefited from this scheme, receiving total concessions amounting to more than Rs 11.75 crore.
The Chaupal held in Kamrakhol clearly demonstrated that when the leadership engages in direct dialogue with the public, even the most complex problems become easier to resolve. This initiative by the Chief Minister serves as proof that good governance is not limited merely to the formulation of schemes, but is, in fact, a commitment to seamlessly delivering them to the last person.
