     Raipur, February 2, 2009: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has given approval to the state Chief Electoral Officer Dr Alok Shukla to go on deputation to the Central Election Commission.

      The Chief Minister has put his signature on the file to give permission to Shukla to go on deputation as the Deputy Election Commissioner of India at New Delhi, a top official told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com today.

     General Administration Department would, most likely, issue the order of relieve of the 1986 batch IAS Shukla today itself, they said adding he would hand over his charges to Joint Chief Electoral Officer Gaurav Dwivedi on Tuesday and proceed to Delhi.

     The Election Commission of India had on January 28, written a letter to the Chief Secretary P Joy Oommen asking that Shukla may be relieved of the charges of the Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh with immediate effect.

      It also said Joint CEO Dwivedi may be assigned the routine works of the office of the CEO.

     The Commission had also asked the state Government to provide a panel of three IAS officers along with their ACR dossiers to select a suitable officer for the appointment of the next CEO of the state.
