Raipur, November 21, 2022: Ruling Congress today demanded cancellation of the nomination form of BJP candidate from Bhanupratappur Brahmanand Netam, alleging he had not mentioned in his affidavit a criminal case is pending against him.

An alleged rape case is pending against the BJP leader but he had not mentioned that in his nomination affidavit, PCC President Mohan Markam claimed.

For hiding information about criminal cases pending against him, the Election Commission should cancel his papers for the December 5 Bhanupratappur Assembly by-election, Markam said.

In the election affidavit the BJP candidate has written that there was no criminal case pending against him, whereas he was a co-accused in a case in Jamshedpur of Jharkhand state, PCC chief claimed and urged the Election Commission to take appropriate action in that matter.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal dismissed the Congress allegation and said had it been true, why the BJP candidate has not yet been arrested,

Sensing defeat, Congress is levelling such type of allegation against the BJP candidate when Jharkhand police neither send him any summons, nor contacted Kanker police for investigation.

Since there is a coalition government in Jharkhand in which Congress is a partner, they are trying to falsely implicate the BJP leader, Agrawal said.
