Raipur, December 10, 2022: A Raipur local court today extended the Enforcement Directorate custody of Saumya Chaurasia to 4 more days.
Chaurasia was arrested on December 2 on a money laundering case and was initially given 4 days custody of the ED for further investigation.
On expiry of the current ED custody, she was again produced before a local court, in which ED asked for further custody saying the investigation was incomplete.
The ED had arrested the powerful bureaucrat on December 2 couple of days after raids in multiple places of premises belonging to businessmen, politicians and bureaucrats.
Chaurasia is the Deputy Secretary in the Chief Minister’s office.
