     Raipur, December 16, 2009: Amid absence of many stalwarts, Congress leaders today released the election manifesto for the coming urban local body election in Chhattisgarh.

     Congress would give top most priority to provide a mosquito and dust free cities once the party comes to power in the urban local body elections, PCC President Dhanendra Sahu told reporters here.

     The manifesto was released amid absence of many top party leaders like former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, lone party Lok Sabha MP Charan Das Mahant, former Union Minister Arvind Netam, Youth Congress state President Raj Kumari Deewan, NSUI state President Sanjeev Shukla among others.

     AICC Treasurer Motilal Vora was here couple of days back to confirm party tickets to his followers but he was also missing from the scene today.

     Besides PCC Chief Sahu, Acting President Satya Narayan Sharma, senior party leader V C Shukla, Congress Legislature Party leader Ravindra Choubey and from the party MLAs only Kuldeep Juneja were seen at the time of release of the manifesto.

      The Congress party today promised to provide safe drinking water to every household in the state besides mosquito and dust free environment, in the release.

     1.5 Lakh houses would be constructed for the poors and for construction of houses in up to 1500 sq ft land instead of municipality, any registered engineers would pass that, if Congress comes to power, PCC President Sahu said.
