Raipur, July 17, 2010: Communist Party of India has reportedly urged Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to take steps in putting a halt to the atrocities by police and security forces on people and also on the cadre of the CPI.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, General Secretary of the CPI A B Bardhan claimed police was engaged in harassing people and also of the CPI leaders in the name of fighting Maoists.
Accusing the Dantewada Senior Superintendent of Police S R P Kalluri of targetting his party leaders, Bardhan claimed the police officer was trying to terrorise innocent tribals and torturing them
He also claimed that the Dantewada police was arresting cadre of CPI blaming them to increase the influence of Communist party at the cost of BJP and Congress.
