New Delhi, October 22, 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) today held a meeting with Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) to review the preparations for the nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
Election Commission sources stated that this conference is being held as a follow-up to the SIR preparedness conference held on September 10, 2025, during which all states and union territories made detailed presentations on the number of voters in their respective states, the eligibility date of the previous SIR, and the electoral rolls as of the last completed SIR.
The two-day conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of the Election Commission of India (ECI) began today at the India International Institute of Democracy and Electoral Management (IIIDEM) in New Delhi.

The conference was chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, in the presence of Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi. The Commission assessed the preparedness of the offices of the CEOs of all States and Union Territories for the nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
The Commission assessed the progress made on the instructions previously issued to the CEOs to map the current voters with the voters as per the previous SIR in the State/UT.
The Commission also reviewed the status of appointment and training of DEOs, EROs, AEROs, BLOs, and BLAs.
