Raipur, July 12, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today said that education is not just a means to obtain a degree, but a path to serve society and the nation. Education is the basic foundation of success in any field.
While felicitating talented students of various disciplines and schools performing excellently at the PSY Excellence Award Ceremony here, the Chief Minister said that education is not just a means to obtain a degree, but a path to serve society and the nation.

He said that life is incomplete without education, and this is the foundation of the progress of any nation. Education is the basic foundation of success in any field.
The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh has now entered its silver jubilee year and in the past years, the state has made unprecedented progress in the field of education. Where earlier there was only one medical college in the state, today more than 15 medical colleges are operating there. Also, prestigious national institutes like IIT, NIT, IIM and AIIMS are also functioning in the state. Schools have been opened in every village, and colleges have been established according to the needs of the children.
Sai said during his childhood there was only one school for the children of many villages. He recalled that he gave the fifth class board examination in another village, because there was no examination center in his village.

Today there are immense opportunities for students in Chhattisgarh and every child should take advantage of these opportunities and move forward towards their goals, Sai said.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is continuously moving towards the goal of ‘Developed India’, and with this resolve we are also working at a fast pace towards developed Chhattisgarh.
He said that in the last 11 years the country has gained respect at the global level and India is again moving towards becoming a world leader.
Sai said that the state government is constantly making efforts to effectively implement the new education policy at the ground level.
He said that under the new education policy implemented in the country in the year 2020, education in Chhattisgarh is now also available in local languages. In areas like Bastar, education is now being imparted in local languages, and medical education in the state is also being imparted in Hindi.
Addressing the function, former Assembly Speaker and MLA Dharamlal Kaushik said that the aim of the institution is not only to honour talented students, but also to provide a platform to talents working in various fields.
He said that under the new education policy, concrete work has started towards making students proficient in various languages.
He also appreciated the positive changes taking place in the field of education in Chhattisgarh.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also honoured artists who excelled in various genres.

During this, senior painter Raj Saini presented a painting of him with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a special gift to Chief Minister Sai.
