Raipur, December 04, 2014: After the Supreme Court stay the order of the Chhattisgarh High Court, the State Election Commission today announced fresh date for urban local bodies election in the state.
It would be a two-round election for the urban local bodies in the state.
The first phase of election would be held on December 29, State Election Commissioner Prafulla Chandra Dalei told reporters.
On December 31, the election to the second round would take place, he said.
Counting for both the phases would be held simultaneously on January 5, 2015, the Commissioner said.
With the declaration of the election date, model code of conduct was immediately in force in the state, he said.
