Raipur, March 21, 2011: Eminent journalist Alok Tomar passed away at New Delhi, officials said today.
Tomar died yesterday at a Hospital at New Delhi and his last rite was performed at the national capital today.
On behalf of the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, Director Social Welfare and Panchayat Alok Awasthi offered floral tributes to the departed soul.
From the day of creation of Chhattisgarh on November 1, 2000, Tomar was closely associated with this state, political personalities and bureaucrats.
He was very close to the power that matter in the country and was known as a fearless journalist and a prolific writer.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh in a message here has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of Tomar and recalled his contribution as a fearless journalist and constructive author.
