Raipur, September 06, 2015: Main Opposition Congress today accused the state government of providing wrong information to the Raj Bhawan on the issue of Shanti Kashyap, wife of state Education Minister Kedar Kashyap.
On August 21 last when a Congress delegation met the Governor Balramjee Das Tandon and gave a memorandum on the issue, the Governor had told them that action would be taken on the issue and FIR would be lodged against Shanti Kashyap, said PCC Spokesman Shailesh Nitin Trivedi.
However, the FIR copy they had received from the Raj Bhawan said FIR was lodged against some unknown woman, Trivedi said.
On the issue wrong information was provided by the State Government to the Governor, he claimed.
The Congress leader said they also wanted action against the Education Minister Kedar Kashyap as his wife Shanti is allegedly involved in the scandal.
Pandit Sundarlal Sharma Open University, Bilaspur authority had on August 12 decided to register FIR against the wife of Education Minister Kedar Kashyap and the lady, who appeared on behalf of Kashyap’s wife Shanti in MA English Final Examination.
Vice Chancellor Bansh Gopal Sharma had also written a letter to the District Superintendent of Police Bastar to lodge FIR against Kashyap and the lady, who had appeared in the examination on behalf of the wife of the state Education Minister.
At the Lohandiguda Government Higher Secondary School of Bastar District, in the final MA English examination on August 4 last, instead of Shanti Kashyap, someone else had appeared in the exam.
When officials reached the Centre and started probing the identity of the girl, who was appearing for Shanti, the girl slipped out of the room silently without revealing her original identity.
Subsequently Lohandiguda Centre Superintendent Hem Rao Khaparde and Coordinator Ramesh Nage have been suspended on the issue on August 13, official sources said.
