     Raipur, March 24, 2011: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today expressed deep sorrow over the burning of houses in three villages of Dantewada district and said there would be an independent inquiry into the incident.

     In a statement, the Chief Minister has expressed his sorrow over arsoning in Tadmetla, Timapuram and Morpalli villages and assured the people all assistance from the government.

     On instruction from the Chief Minister, a special team today visited to arson affected Tadmetla village to provide relief materials to the villagers.

     Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said besides a magistrate probe into the incident, there would be an independent inquiry into the entire incident of arsoning.

     Reports in national media said a joint police party of CRPF and Koya Commandos had gone on a three day operation of that Chintalnar area on March 13, last and during that period they had killed one innocent person, sexually abused some women and burnt the houses and all belongings for no reason.

     Dantewada District Collector R Prasanna has told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com “there were media reports that some houses of Tadmetla, Timmapuram and Morpalli have been burnt by police, but so far I have not received any complaint from any of the villagers.”

     The District Collector has also said he has constituted an Inquiry committee headed by Sub Divisional Magistrate Sukma Surendra Vaidya to probe the incident.

     Editor of Bastar Impact Suresh Mahapatra, Secretary of NGO Pragati Prayas Chitalanka Narendra and District Literacy Mission member secretary Ratnabala Mohanty have been named as the members of the Committee.
