Jagdalpur, June 16, 2011: Kanker district administration was today asked to gear up to meet the challenges of monsoon fury.
Reviewing the works of the Kanker District, Bastar Commissioner K Srinivasulu today asked Kanker District Collector Nirmal Xaxa to take every step to meet the flood situation in the district.
Every year Kanker reported death and road cut off due to rain and flood.
The District administration said they have made provision of one boat in every block and two boats at District headquarters ahead of the monsoon.
Relief and rescue teams have also been constituted and a flood control room has been established to meet the eventuality, Xaxa told the review meeting.
