Jagdalpur, June 18, 2009: A group of armed naxalites today kidnapped two policemen from the Bijapur district.
When two jawans of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force were returning back to their place of posting after availing leave, a group of armed Maoists stopped the passenger bus in which they were travelling in and on gun point kidnapped both the security personnel, police officials said.
The jawans were travelling in from Bijapur to Awapalli when the incident took place, they said.
Combing operation has been launched in the area to trace the Jawans, who are most likely safe, police said.
Officials also said both the jawans were unarmed when they were abducted.
