     Jagdalpur, January 31, 2009: The banned outfit CPI (Maoists) has offered for talks with Chhattisgarh Government.

     “Hamari party yaha ghosana karti hai ki janhit main mehnatkash pidit janata ke hit main batchit sahit har kadam uthane ke liye taiyar hain, basartein batchit ke anukul janwadi mahol nirmit ho,” Spokesman of the CPI (Maoist) Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee Pandu alias Pandanna said in a statement.

    “Our party is making this announcement to take all steps, including talks, in the interest of the hardworking but suffering people,” if translated, his statement said.

    However, he said there should be a favourable pro-people environment is created for the talk.

     At the same time the Maoists have expressed doubt over the offer of the Raman Singh government for talk with the naxalites.

    The announcement of the state government for talk was a “step to misguide the people,” it said.

   In the same statement, the Maoists have reportedly condemned the killing of 17 tribals in Singaram.

    The Maoists condemn the killing of 17 tribal villagers, who were killed by security forces in a “fake encounter in Singaram,” it said.
