Raipur, October 09, 2011: A group of medical students last night attacked some media persons, who had gone to cover a flash strike by the junior doctors of the Government Medical College Hospital Raipur.
Not only the junior doctors had roughed up the media persons but also one Outdoor broadcasting van was damaged and some crew members of Zee 24 TV channel were also attacked.
The incident took place yesterday night when some media persons had rushed to the Medical College Hospital to cover a flash strike by the junior doctors, several journalists and eyewitnesses said.
The junior doctors started misbehaving and attacking the journalists when the media persons were talking to some staff of Hospital, they said.
It took an ugly turn when the Raipur Police refused to register a case against the junior doctors and a past mid night sit on by journalists forced the police to assure of an action on the incident.
When contacted Raipur range Inspector General of Police Mukesh Gupta told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com that the police was taking action against the people, who had taken the law into their hand.
