     Raipur, March 30, 2016: The Government of India has increased the wages for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

      From April 1, the wage for unskilled labour under MNREGS has been increased to Rs 167, official sources said.

     The wage for unskilled labour was previously Rs 159 which has been increased to Rs 167, a Central Rural Development Ministry notification said.

     Chhattisgarh has also directed all its districts to implement the new wage for unskilled labourers in the MGNREG Scheme.
