Ambikapur, August 28, 2009: The Administration in Sarguja district has asked all the people, engaged in swine business, to take away their animals outside the territory of the district headquarters Ambikapur by tomorrow.
The people, engaged in pig business, have been asked not to keep their animals within the city limit of Ambikapur and should take their animals away from the territory of the district headquarters, Ambikapur Municipal Commissioner Rakesh Jaiswal said.
For public interest and public health such an order was issued by the administration, he said adding all the swine need to be shifted by tomorrow.
After the fear of Swine Flu gripped the people, such a decision was taken, official sources said adding if the owners of the pigs would not shift their animals with in the stipulated time period police action would be initiated against them.
The people, engaged in swine business, had on August 19 been informed about the decision and asked them to take their animals to a distant place from the Ambikapur town, the officials said.
Medical examinations have confirmed presence of Swine Flu in Chhattisgarh and Health Secretary Vikash Sheel said all steps have been taken to check its spread to newer places.
