Raipur, November 21, 2008: Creating a record, in three places the total votes polled in the second phase of election in Chhattisgarh was more than the actual voters.

After the matter came to notice 4 polling officials have been suspended, who were deployed in Manikchouri booth of Abhanpur constituency in Raipur district, they said.
In Manikchouri there were 478 votes but total number of votes polled were 510, the officials said. PCC President Dhanendra Sahu is locked in a poll battle against Chandra Sekhar Sahu of BJP in Abhanpur and Manikchouri is the village of Sahu.
In Sapaha booth of Bhatgaon seat in Sarguja district against the actual voters of 206 a total of 265 voters exercised their franchise.
In third case in Mudianar booth of Kathghora seat in Korba district a total of 294 voters had cast their votes when it had only 210 voters, officials said.
Besides that in Chhatatarai booth of Pathalgaon seat of Jashpur district 14 people had forcefully cast their votes for which FIR had been lodged against them.
In Ralia booth of Kathghora seat also irregularities had been reported.
In all the 5 places the state polling officials have sought permission from the Election Commission to conduct repolling, Commission officials said.
