Raipur, January 15, 2009: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights is on a five-day tour of the naxal affected areas of Chhattisgarh from today, a top official said here.
During their visit, the members of the Commission and the UNICEF would visit Sukma and many other areas of high violence affected Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, a top official told www.ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
Dipa Dixit was leading the delegation of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, New Delhi, with other team members Rashmi Chopra, R Venkat Reddy and Venkatesh of UNICEF, Chhattisgarh.
After arriving at Raipur today the delegation of the National Commission would stay at Sukma tomorrow and visit the adjoining areas, among them are Neelavaram village and Budidi village and interact with School teachers, Panchayat and local communities, they said.
The team is scheduled to make the night stay at Dantewada on Saturday and the next day they would have meetings with the Dantewada District Collector and the district officials from Education, Health, Tribal Welfare and Women and Child Welfare Departments besides Panchayat members.
On arriving at Raipur on January 19, the team members would have a high level meeting with the Secretaries of Education, Tribal Welfare, Women and Child Welfare and Health Departments before leaving for Delhi, the officials said.
