Naya Raipur, November 06, 2012: Chhattisgarh Government today named its new Secretariat building after the main river of the state, Mahanadi.
“The new Secretariat building will be known as Mahanadi and building for Department heads will be called Indravati,” Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh told the Rajyotshav function here in the presence of President of India Pranab Mukherjee.
From tomorrow the new Mantralaya would start functioning from its new building, Singh said.
Earlier in the evening the President had inaugurated the new Secretariat building and praised its architectural designing, located in the Capital Complex area of Naya Raipur.
After inauguration, Mukherjee also took a round of the new building.
The President also praised the Chhattisgarhi art and culture that have been depicted in the new Secretariat.
Mukherjee also visited the chamber of the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, located in the fifth floor, and had a group photo with dignitaries.
