New Delhi, June 10, 2014: Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today said they have not requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi for special status to Chhattisgarh.
“There is no requirement for special status to Chhattisgarh,” Singh said after meeting the Prime Minister.
Instead of special status he had asked for special package to backward and tribal districts of the State, the Chief Minister said.
BJP had been making it a political issue of asking the Centre to accord special status to Chhattisgarh till there was a Congress led government at the Centre.
In an-hour long discussion had with the prime Minister the Chief Minister discussed about the development of infrastructure, rail corridor, skilled development and other issues relating to Chhattisgarh, Singh said.
