Raipur, January 16, 2024: Chhattisgarh Government today amended the designation of top posts of the Cooperative department.
Instead of Registrar Cooperative Societies, the IAS officer will be called Commissioner Cooperation and Registrar Cooperative Societies, official sources said.
A state government order said for all administrative works the designation of Commissioner will be used whereas for Cooperative Department related works the term Registrar will be used.
The state government had not clarified why it had changed the term as Commissioner for Registrar, Additional Registrar, Joint Registrar and Deputy Registrar.
Throughout the country the head of Cooperative Department is called Registrar Cooperative Societies and perhaps it is a century old practices.
