New Delhi, December 24, 2024: Raghubar Das, who was in controversy over the alleged conduct of his son, has resigned and accepting his resignation President Droupadi Murmu today appointed a new Governor for Odisha along with four other states.
The President of India has accepted the resignation of Raghubar Das as Governor of Odisha, a Press Communique from the President’s Secretariat said.

Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, the current Governor of Mizoram has been appointed as the new Governor of Odisha, it said.
In an important step former Army Chief and former Union Minister General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd.) was today appointed as the new Governor of Mizoram.

Meanwhile, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan is shifted to Bihar Raj Bhawan and swapping position Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, the current Governor of Bihar is appointed as new Governor of Kerala.
Former Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla is appointed as the Governor of Manipur.
Bhalla will replace Anusuiya Uikey, who was shifted from Chhattisgarh to Manipur as the Governor.

Bhalla has served the Modi government as the home secretary for about five years from 2019 to 2024. His appointment in Manipur assumes significance as the state has been witnessing ethnic clashes between the Kuki and Meitei for over a year.
