Raipur, May 17, 2026: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today evening reached Raipur on a three day tour of Chhattisgarh, during which he would participate in functions to strengthen public services and security.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai extended a warm welcome to Shah at the Swami Vivekananda Airport by presenting a bouquet.
The high-profile visit of Union Home and Cooperation Minister will feature a strategic blend of grassroots public service launches, internal security reviews, tribal community engagements, and apex-level governance summits in Raipur and Bastar.

The Home Minister will commence his itinerary tomorrow morning at 10:15 AM in the state capital, where he will flag off an upgraded fleet of Dial 112 emergency response vehicles at the Parade Ground of the Police Training School in Raipur.
Immediately following this event, Shah will fly to the Bastar region to inaugurate a newly established Jan Suvidha Kendra in Netanar at 11:45 AM, an initiative designed to streamline administrative machinery and bring essential digital public services directly to rural and tribal pockets.
In the afternoon in Jagdalpur at 1:00 PM a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Amar Vatika will be held to pay tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes. This will be followed by an extensive interaction session at 2:00 PM at the BADAL Academy in Jagdalpur. During this dialogue, the Home Minister will interact directly with the families of martyrs, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel, state special forces, police officials, Naxal victims, and prominent representatives of local tribal societies to assess welfare and ground realities.
The day will culminate at 6:30 PM at the same venue with ‘Bastar Ke Sang,’ a specially curated folk cultural programme celebrating the traditional art, music, and rich heritage of the region.
On the last day of his itinerary, May 19 the Home Minister’s schedule shifts focus to key regional policy and administrative governance in Jagdalpur. On May 19, the 26th meeting of the Central Zonal Council will be held in Jagdalpur. The meeting is scheduled to take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It will be presided over by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Chief Ministers of four states, along with senior officials, will participate in this meeting. Issues such as inter-state coordination, regional development, security arrangements, the situation in Naxal-affected areas, and administrative cooperation are likely to be discussed during the meeting.
The meeting of the Central Zonal Council is also considered significant as it may address several pending issues related to coordination among the states, sources said.
