KORBA, September 28, 2009: The Chhattisgarh administration today said only 41 people were killed in the September 23 incident of collapse of the Chimney of Rs 5000 crore power project of Vedanta (BALCO) in Korba.
“So far only 41 bodies have been recovered from the accident site,” Korba District Collector Ashok Agrawal told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here today.
Of the killed persons, 40 bodies have been identified, where as one of the victims was yet to be identified, he said.
Agrawal also said the rescue work was completed today as all the debris has been removed from the accident site to search the bodies of the labourers.
On September 23 last the 178 metre height Chimney of 1200 MW power plant of Vedanta (BALCO) was collapsed killing scores of people.
