Raipur, April 12, 2012: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today said his government was functioning “honestly and efficiently”, although the opposition was desperately trying to get some wrong doings of his Government.
“We have nothing to hide,” Singh told the state executive body meeting of the BJP at Ekatma Parishar here.
For the last eight years the Opposition (Congress) and its agencies had been unsuccessfully trying to unearth something against his Government, the Chief Minister said.
“Since my Government is functioning honestly, efficiently and in a very transparent way, the Opposition would gain nothing from here,” he said.
The Chief Minister also briefed the BJP executive body members about the Comptroller and Auditor General Report on Bhatgaon-II Coal block and said his Government was not involved in any irregularities, BJP sources said.
The CAG had in its report stated that the state incurred an estimated loss of Rs 1051 crore for awarding the contract to a private party in a lower price and the main Opposition Congress was now demanding a CBI probe into the entire issue.
