Raipur, October 08, 2011: Chhattisgarh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today decided to start procurement of paddy from November 15.
Paddy procurement would be carried out from November 15 to February 15, an official said today after the cabinet meeting.
Minimum support price for common variety paddy has been fixed at Rs 1080 and for A-Grade paddy the price would be Rs 1111.00, he said adding last season the prices were Rs 1000 and Rs 1030 respectively.
This year the state was planning to procure 55 lakh tonnes of paddy for which it required 13.75 lakh sacks, the official said.
