Raipur, July 25, 2026: President of India Droupadi Murmu today accepted the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as the Union Minister for Education.
The President of India, as advised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has accepted the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from the Union Council of Ministers, with immediate effect, under clause (2) of Article 75 of the Constitution of India, a press communique from the President’s Secretariat said.

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has been assigned to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi by the Prime Minister Modi.
“Further, as advised by the Prime Minister, the President has directed that Pralhad Joshi, Cabinet Minister, be assigned the charge of the Ministry of Education, in addition to his existing portfolio,” the Communique said.
Earlier in the day the Sambalpur BJP MP Dharmendra Pradhan had to tender his resignation after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) threatened to intensify their 36-day sit in agitation if Pradhan did not quit, blaming him for the repeated question leaks and mal-administration in the Education sector.
