     Raipur, March 09, 2011: President of India Pratibha Patil would address the Chhattisgarh Assembly.

     The State assembly has received information that the President has agreed to inaugurate the Central hall of the Assembly and to finalise the date, Speaker Dharam Lal Kaushik and the Assembly Secretary Devendra Verma would be meeting the president soon.

     “We have an appointment on March 12 at 12.15 AM with the President,” Speaker Kaushik said.

     During the meeting, they would request her to give an early date, and if possible, before the end of the Budget session to inaugurate the Central Hall and also to address the Assembly, he said.

     Even if a date is given after the end of the current session, she would be addressing the Assembly during her tour, when ever it was possible, Kaushik said.

     This would be the second occasion, when a President would be addressing the Chhattisgarh Assembly. In the previous Assembly the then President APJ Abdul Kalam had address the house.
