Raipur, October 13, 2009: Huge numbers of passengers of the Utkal Express had a providential escape today when a crack in the track was detected just before the train could pass through a damage railway line.
Just before the train could pass through an area between Pendra Road and Belgahna, a crack was detected in the railway line because of which the Hiridwar-Puri Utkal Express was forced to make a grinding halt, one of the passengers of the train Deepak Rekhani told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com over phone.
Immediately officials had reached the spot and repair work had been on progress to facilitate plying of trains on that route, he said.
Despite several attempts, Railway authorities could not be contacted.
