    Naya Raipur, November 01, 2012: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today announced to gift laptops, tablets to students to mark the formation of Chhattisgarh as a new state.

      Presiding over the week-long celebration of the creating of Chhattisgarh at Naya Raipur, the new capital city, the Chief Minister said the final year students of the medical and engineering institutes would be given laptops.

     Similarly, for improving computer education among the last year students of B.A., B.Com, B. Sc., MA and M.Sc, they would be given tablets, Singh said presiding over a function, which was inaugurated by the BJP national President Nitin Gadkari late this evening.

     Gadkari praised the leadership and developmental works of the Chief Minister and said the state was sincerely working for the villages, poors and farmers of the state.

      The Chief Minister also announced a committee for reorganization of Blocks after creating eleven new districts in the last five years.

     Currently in 85 tribal blocks the state government was distributing chick pea and about 20 lakh families were getting benefit of the scheme, Singh said adding the government has decided to distribute dal at a subsidised rate of Rs 10 to poor people in the rest 61 general blocks of the state.

     Like tendu leaves, the state would also ensure proper price for imli, mahua and kosa, he said.

     Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda also greeted the people from the dais on this occasion.

     Rain had delayed the programme by about an hour.
