     Raipur, August 8, 2009: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has taken seriously the large scale allegation of irregularities in distribution of Public Distribution System and directed his previous Principal Secretary and current Food Department chief to seriously look into that.

     After allegations of large scale irregularities in purchase in paddy from various districts, the Chief Minister was receiving complaint of irregularities in issuance of ration card or distribution of subsidised items to people, who are not coming under the schemes.

     In one such latest complaint, the elected people’s representatives and other villagers of Mana camp area in Raipur district have complaint to the Chief Minister of issuance of several ration cards in one name among other irregularities on the PDS and cards.

      A delegation met the Chief Minister and in writing gave details of such ration cards, officials said here today.

     Angry over the incident, the Chief Minister had directed his Principal Secretary Food Vivek Dhand to personally look into that. Dhand was till recently the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and if official sources are to be believed, the Chief Minister was not happy with his current performances.

      Singh has also asked Dhand to re-check all the ration cards issued in all the wards of the Mana local body, officials said.
