     Raipur, November 29, 2011: Chhattisgarh produces about Rs 1000 crore worth of minor forest produces, Forest Minister Vikram Usendi said here today.

     Tendu leaves, Sal seeds, Harra and similar nationalised Minor Forest Produces generating a business of more than Rs 500 crore, where as non-nationalised MFPs like Imli, Mahua, Lakh have also been generating an equal amount of business, the Minister said.

     About 80 per cent of the MFPs are available in Chhattisgarh, the Minister said adding it was also helping in strengthening the economic backbone of the forest dwellers.

     The Minister said this while addressing a function here.
