Raipur, November 26, 2011: Chhattisgarh government has drawn up an ambitious Rs 1170 crore plan to repair the rural roads, which are not coming under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, officials said today.
For renewal of the roads, which are not coming under the PMGSY roads, a project has been prepared with an estimated expenditure cost of Rs 1170 crore, officials said adding the repair works would be carried out in phase manner and spread over the next two years.
A total of 3300 kilometre roads would be included in the project, for which Rs 850 crore would be taken as loan from the NABARD, the officials said adding Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has given his consent for the project.
Due to bad maintenance the condition of the rural roads and national highways are in a bad shape and all needed immediate attention and it is expected that the state government would solve the problem before it go to Assembly poll in 2013.
