     Jagdalpur, November 26, 2011: Fearing law and order breakdown Chhattisgarh administration today cancelled the public hearing for the proposed Steel and Pellet Plant of the National Mineral Development Corporation in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh.

     The Gram Sabhas (Village meetings), scheduled tomorrow, for acquiring lands for the Steel and Pellet Plant of NMDC has been cancelled, District Collector Bastar Anbalgan P said here.

     The special Village meetings were scheduled tomorrow to seek approval for acquiring 93.23 hectare private lands and 3.26 hectare government lands, spread over Kasturi, Manganpur, Madpal and Chokabada villages, for the NMDC plant, a government release, quoting the District Collector, said.

     “The Special village meetings have been cancelled looking into possibility of breaking down of law and order and peace of the area,” the Collector said.

     A separate notification would be issued for the next date of meeting, the release said.
