Sai Govt Approves Rs 5 Crore for Student Startup and Innovation

Chhattisgarh government has approved Rs. 5 crore to encourage innovation, a startup culture, and the entrepreneurial development of youth, and for the effective implementation of the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP).

     Raipur, December 20, 2025: Chhattisgarh government has approved Rs. 5 crore to encourage innovation, a startup culture, and the entrepreneurial development of youth, and for the effective implementation of the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP).

      Under this Student Startup and Innovation Policy, financial assistance will be provided to students and innovators to take their ideas from concept to prototype through concept validation.

     This will enable them to access initial testing, studies, design, technical services, and expert guidance, official sources said today.

     In addition, selected startups will receive support through seed grants for market validation, product development, legal and technical assistance, and initial marketing.

     Officials stated that a Project Management Unit (PMU) will be established under the approved budget for the smooth functioning of i-Hub Chhattisgarh. This will ensure effective monitoring, reporting, financial management of startup activities across the state, and better coordination among various educational and innovation institutions.

     State-level hackathons, ideathons, innovation camps, startup meetings, and innovation awareness campaigns will also be organized.

     The Student Startup and Innovation Policy also gives special priority to intellectual property protection. Technical, legal, and financial support will be provided for patent, copyright, design, and trademark filing, ensuring that innovations are protected and startups gain a competitive edge.

     Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government is continuously taking concrete steps to empower the talent, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of the youth. The financial approval of Rs 5 crore for the effective implementation of the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) is a significant step in this direction.

     The Chief Minister said that this investment will provide students and innovators with the opportunity to transform their innovations into viable ventures, thereby strengthening the innovation-based economy in Chhattisgarh and giving a new impetus to job creation.

     Finance Minister O P Choudhary said that the state government has a clear vision to make Chhattisgarh a strong center of innovation and entrepreneurship.

     This approval of Rs. 5 crore for the Student Startup and Innovation Policy symbolizes the government’s faith in the ideas and capabilities of the youth, said the Minister.

     This investment will give students and innovators the opportunity to transform their innovations into viable ventures, which will not only lead to the development of new startups but also give a new impetus to job creation in the state, Choudhary said.
