Bilaspur, December 2, 2008: The South East Central Railways has outsmarted all the Railway Zones of the country and achieved a new hall mark in loading of goods.
Total originating loading of SECR in November 2008 has been 11.20 million tonnes of freight which is about 1.25 million tonnes more than the corresponding period last year, Railway officials said here today.
It was also 0.02 million tonne more than the internal target and with that the SECR has carried so far 85.84 million tonnes of freight between April to November 2008 which is 7.23 million tonnes more from the corresponding period last year.
SECR has been given a target of 133.5 million tonnes of freight loading in the current financial year.
With all these credits SECR has achieved not only highest ever loading but also highest incremental loading amongst all Zonal Railways of Indian Railways, the officials said adding Member (Traffic), Railway Board, Shri Prakash has conveyed his appreciation for this excellent performance and congratulated the General Manager Pradeep Kumar and his entire team of staff and officers for the new hallmark.
