Raipur, December 25, 2008: The Chhattisgarh Assembly will elect its new speaker on January 5, next, Assembly officials said today.
All the 90 newly elect members are scheduled to take oath on January 5 after which the house would elect its third Speaker, Assembly sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
The Governor E S L Narasimhan would also address the new house on the first day of the two day sittings.
On the second day of the sitting on January 9, the house is said to discuss on the vote of thanks to the Governor for his address to the house.
BJP MLA Dharam Kaushik is all set to elect as the Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Assembly.
