Raipur, August 04, 2025: In the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh alone, a total of 130 health Centres have received quality certification under NQAS from 1 January 2024 to 16 June 2025, which includes one district hospital, 16 primary health centers and 113 sub-health centers.

In addition to that, certification work of 65 other institutions is in process, official sources said today.

The special thing is that 14 institutions of Naxal-affected districts—Kanker, Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada—have also been awarded quality certificates, which shows commitment to health services even in challenging circumstances, the officials said.

With the aim of making health services more comprehensive in Bastar division, the coverage of Ayushman card is also being accelerated under the Niyada Nellnar Yojana.

Under the scheme, 36,231 Ayushman cards have been made in Bastar division in just one year. So far, 52.6 per cent coverage has been done, and 6,816 beneficiaries have received the benefit of medical assistance worth Rs 8.22 crore.

To further strengthen this well-organised system, the government has appointed 33 medical specialists, 117 medical officers and 1 dental surgeon in Bastar division in the last one and a half years.

In addition, recruitment has been completed for 75 staff and managerial posts from the state level and 307 from the district level, while the recruitment process for 291 posts is in progress. These appointments are not only strengthening the reach of services, but are also significantly increasing quality and efficiency.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, changes are being seen in the field of health services in Bastar division. With the effective implementation of health schemes, health facilities are now within the reach of people even in remote and Naxal-affected areas like Bastar, they said.

With the government’s solid strategy and dedicated implementation at the ground level, access to health facilities is now possible, which was once considered impossible in the Naxal-affected area.

Expressing happiness over the continuous expansion and improvement in quality of health services in Bastar, Chief Minister Sai said that this change has been possible today only due to the active participation and commitment of Mitanins, health workers and departmental employees. “Our government has a special focus on Bastar and we will continue to strengthen it,” he added.

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that the government’s goal is to provide quality health services equally throughout Chhattisgarh.

Under the Malaria free campaign being run in Bastar, the spread of malaria has been effectively controlled through door-to-door testing, prompt treatment and awareness activities.

Under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), health institutions across the state, especially in the Bastar region, have recorded exemplary achievements, they added.

It has been a clear priority of the state government to expand health services on the ground in Naxal-affected districts like Kanker, Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada. Today, people in these areas are also benefiting from quality health services.

For an in-depth review of these achievements and direct observation of the ground progress, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal will be on a three-day Bastar tour from August 5 to 7, 2025.

Senior officials and technical team of the Health Department will also accompany him. During this, he will inspect the major district hospitals and medical colleges of Bastar division, take meetings of the autonomous committee, review the malaria-free campaign and also visit villages located in the remote districts like Bijapur and Sukma to evaluate the ground situation of health services.
