Raipur, January 09, 2025: Under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Chhattisgarh, currently 40 lakh 15 thousand 635 households have been given domestic tap connections for the supply of safe drinking water.

Official sources said today that the work of providing free domestic tap connections is being done rapidly in the rural areas of Chhattisgarh.
Chhattisgarh government has set the target of 50 lakh 03 thousand 730 families to provide domestic tap connections and has achieved the success of 40 lakh 15 thousand 635 domestic tap connections so far, the sources added.
Along with this, arrangements have been made for the supply of pure drinking water through taps in 43 thousand 926 schools, 41 thousand 665 Anganwadi centers and 17 thousand 319 Gram Panchayat buildings and community sub-health centers of the state.
Meanwhile, officials said Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh is at the forefront in providing maximum domestic tap connections of 2 lakh 504 rural families.
With 1 lakh 98 thousand 12 domestic tap connections Mahasamund district is at the second place where as Janjgir-Champa district is at third place with 1 lakh 85 thousand 283 tap connections.
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission drinking water is being provided in the state at the rate of 55 liters per person per day, for this, work plans are being prepared in all the districts and work is being done at a fast pace, they added.
In addition to domestic tap connections, running water is also being arranged in schools, sub-health centers and Anganwadi centers.
Under Jal Jeevan Mission, so far 1 lakh 81 thousand 420 tap connections have been given in Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara district, 1 lakh 80 thousand 760 in Bilaspur district, 1 lakh 79 thousand 390 in Raipur district, 1 lakh 65 thousand 717 in Kawardha, 1 lakh 53 thousand 150 in Dhamtari district, 01 lakh 52 thousand 264 in Balod, 1 lakh 50 thousand 578 in Bemetara district, 1 lakh 48 thousand 563 in Mungeli, 1 lakh 44 thousand 163 in Jashpur, 1 lakh 43 thousand 867 in Korba, 1 lakh 43 thousand 514 in Bastar, 1 lakh 41 thousand 808 in Balrampur and 1 lakh 39 thousand 623 tap connections have been given in Rajnandgaon district.
Similarly, 1 lakh 37 thousand 872 in Durg, 1 lakh 34 thousand 835 in Sakti, 1 lakh 34 thousand 530 in Gariaband, 1 lakh 29 thousand 662 in Sarguja district, 1 lakh 24 thousand 017 in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, 1 lakh 15 thousand 072 in Surajpur, 1 lakh 12 thousand 312 in Kanker, 1 lakh 01 thousand 963 in Kondagaon, 68 thousand 187 in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, 62 thousand 635 in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, 60 thousand 379 in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, 47 thousand 113 in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagadh Chowki, 46 thousand 477 in Sukma, 39 thousand 557 in Dantewada, 37 thousand 777 in Korea district, in Bijapur 32 thousand 562 and 21 thousand 936 rural families in Narayanpur district.
