Jagdalpur, November 22, 2010: Maoists today blown off a security vehicle in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh killing two CRPF personnel, including one constable, who hails from Rajnandgaon district.
After dropping rations at Awapalli, when two CRPF constables were returning back to their base camp in Seemapur, the Maoists triggered a powerful land mine blast, blowing off their vehicle, police said.
“The blast was so powerful that both the CRPF constables were killed on the spot,” Additional SP Bijapur Rajbhanu told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
The incident took place in the jungle area, about 47 km from the district headquarters Bijapur, he said.
Forces have been rushed to the spot for search operation, police said.
Among the killed was a constable from Rajnandgaon district where as the driver constable was from Yavatmal area of the neighbouring Maharashtra state, police said.
