Bilaspur, August 24, 2010: About 20,000 girl students have become computer literate in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, officials said today.
Compared to the figure of 15,464 of 2008-2009, over 20,000 girls had been imparted computer training at Bilaspur district for the year 2009-2010, officials said.
To empower the girls, the state government had started the Soochana Shakti Yojana in the state and along with other districts, girl students from Bilaspur had also been benefitted out of the scheme, they said.
Under the scheme, SC, ST and poor girl students between standard IX to XII are being trained of computers in the school free of cost, they added.
Currently the girls are being trained in 94 high and higher secondary schools in the Bilaspur district.
