Ambikapur, July 31, 2009: The administration had ordered a magistrate probe into the death of a tribal convict during treatment in Sarguja district of Chhattisgarh.
District Collector Dr Kamalpreet Singh has asked the Deputy Collector J R Bhagat to probe into the death of convicted jail inmate Sidhunram.
Sidhunram Kanwar of Katkoni, under Lakhanpur Police Station, was housed in Ambikapur Central Jail and due to illness admitted to Ambikapur District Hospital on July 11, last, officials said.
During treatment in the Hospital he died on July 20, last, they said.
The magistrate has been given a month time to probe under which circumstance he fall ill and whether he fall ill suddenly and was he given proper treatment or it was insufficient, the officials said.
