Raipur, January 7, 2026: Chhattisgarh has able to create APAAR IDs for more than 80 per cent of students in all districts except five.

The performance of five districts in APAAR ID generation districts, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Sukma, Dantewada and Balrampur are below 80 per cent, official sources said today.

Following the instructions of the Government of India to strengthen the academic identity of students, Chhattisgarh has made remarkable progress in the creation of APAAR IDs (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry).

In Bemetara district, 96.40 per cent of students have received their APAAR IDs, and in Rajnandgaon, the figure is 96.38 per cent.

Among other districts, Raigarh, Korea, Raipur, Korba, Dhamtari, Durg and Balodabazar districts have achieved more than 93 per cent APAAR ID generation for their students.

Official sources stated that excluding the five districts—Narayanpur, Bijapur, Sukma, Balrampur, and Dantewada—more than 80 per cent of students in the remaining districts have received their APAAR IDs.

The work of generating APAAR IDs for the remaining students is in progress in all districts, they added.

Under the system implemented by the Government of India under the National Education Policy 2020 to strengthen the academic identity of students, the state has made remarkable progress in the creation of APAAR IDs.

According to the data available as of today, out of 57,10,207 students studying in 57,045 schools in the state, APAAR IDs have been successfully generated for 50,60,941 students, which is 88.63 per cent and the highest percentage among large states.

Officials said that this is a significant achievement in the direction of a digital academic infrastructure.

The Government of India has instructed that APAAR IDs for all students should be generated by January 31, 2026.

It is noteworthy that the APAAR ID system is providing each student with a permanent digital academic identity, creating a secure digital record of their academic achievements, certificates, and credits. This system will strengthen students’ academic continuity, transparency, and national mobility.

Under the direction of the state government, teachers are continuously working to create APAAR IDs for the remaining students so that all students can benefit from this national digital education initiative.
