Bilaspur, November 10, 2014: At least three women are dead and two dozen are hospitalized after they underwent sterilization operation in a government organized camp in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, officials said today.
“Three women have died after Saturday sterilization camp in Sakri village,” official sources said.
A government sponsored sterilization camp was organized on Saturday for Sakri and Pendari villages at Sakri of Bilaspur district.
However, due to unknown reasons three women have been killed and over two dozen are admitted in ICU at Bilaspur, they said adding the victims are complaining of vomiting and pulse drop, like poison cases.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh took the incident seriously and asked the state Health Department to conduct a probe through high level technical experts of the incident.
Director Health Services Dr Kamalpreet Singh and three professors of the Raipur medical College have also rushed to Bilaspur on instruction from the Chief Minister, officials said.
