3 killed in accident in under construction new Secretariat

     Raipur, November 2, 2009: Three labourers were killed in an accident in the under construction new Secretariat of Chhattisgarh at Naya Raipur, near here.

     During construction work one of the crane collapsed yesterday killing three labourers and injuring couple of others at the under construction State Secretariat at Rakhi village, officials said today.

     The injured have been rushed to a private hospital for treatment, they said.

     The families of the deceased would be given about Rs 10 lakh as compensation, including the amount covered as insurance, they said.

     Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh expressed his sorrow over the incident and directed the Housing and Environment Minister Rajesh Munat to visit the affected families and provide them all possible assistance.
