Dantewada, May 17, 2010: At least 30 people were killed today after the Maoists exploded a passenger bus in the black top Sukma-Dantewada road triggering a land mine, police said.
“We have the information that about 30 people have been killed in the land mine blast at Chingabaram, under Gadiras police station, about 140 km from Dantewada town,” a senior police officer told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
A private passenger bus was land mined by the Maoists today on the Sukma-Dantewada road, badly damaging the bus, the official said.
After the land mine blast, the Maoists also opened indiscriminate firing, killing about 30 passengers, including some policemen, the source said.
Some of the injured have reached to police and additional forces have rushed to the spot for rescue of the injured or trapped passengers, the official said.
