Korba, July 6, 2009: At least four villagers were killed and 70 affected by diarrhoea in Korba district even before the monsoon was fully active in Chhattisgarh.
Four villagers of different age group were killed and 70 were affected in Jalke village of Poudi Upparweda block of Korba district, officials told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here today.
When contacted Chief District Medical Officer Dr E R Kumbhakar confirmed the death of four persons and said a medical team has been rushed to the village.
Many of the affected persons have also been admitted in the local hospitals, Kumbhakar said.
The incident took place even before the monsoon was fully active in Chhattisgarh and the government should take cognizance of the incident and take immediate steps in all the districts to check loss of any more life.
